TangoTrade leverages smart contracts and blockchain technology to empower small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) to import and export with confidence. By reinventing the outdated letter of credit, TangoTrade enables SMBs to access financing and conduct trade securely, without the traditional high banking fees and inefficiencies. Co-founders are experienced entrepreneurs from Payoneer, PayPal, NASDAQ / SharesPost and Sun Microsystem’s Java group. TangoTrade is funded by Village Global, a venture firm backed by some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs including Reid Hoffman, Jeff Bezos, and Eric Schmidt.

Engineering at TangoTrade

Engineering team and processes

You will be one of the first engineers joining the TangoTrade team. As a result, you will have a major influence over the team structure and processes that we will employ. We plan to utilize an agile approach, with 2 week sprints. We plan to move fast to build our MVP (minimum viable product), and then add additional features quickly, with an eye on market feedback and traction. We're blazing a trail in a new market segment, so we need to be nimble and attuned to our customers' needs.

Technical Challenges

We are creating a private, permissioned blockchain network and utilize smart contracts to govern individual transactions, along with our own crypto token to provide a powerful incentive layer. We don't expect our new hires to have deep blockchain expertise, but you have to be willing and eager to jump in and learn the technology. You will be using cutting edge blockchain technology, and putting it to work in a real world use case.

Projects you might work on
  • Develop an API (and SDKs) to enable partners to integrate our payment service into their existing front end interfaces.

  • Create preconfigured nodes on our private, permissioned blockchain to enable partners to provision and manage nodes within the network.
