Engineering at Ticket Evolution

Engineering team and processes

We have adopted Agile Scrum and work in 2 week sprints. We strive to become agile not just do Agile. Sprints are a mix of stories/tasks from both product and engineering. We are experimenting with dual track scrum to better align with design. Each engineer chooses to be a primary owner of a part of the code base. They are responsible for creating a vision and roadmap for that area of the code. Deploys are done multiple times per sprint when the code is ready for production.

Technical Challenges

We are an API first product and thus most of our customers only use our API. We are always striving to build better tools and libraries for our customers and partners to use. On any given day there are over 10 million tickets available on our platform which expire at very specific times. There is a constant stream of new and changing data which has to be processed in real time.

Projects you might work on
  • Build customizable web site templates that partners can use to get up to speed quickly to sell tickets. Customization includes skinning to match the look of their current web site. Build and open source tools to help partners build their own fully customized sites.

  • Scale our data ingestion pipeline to process millions of records in near real time.

  • Update our API to align with OpenAPI 3.0 standard. Open source client libraries in multiple languages.
