Their research in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and specifically in the area of
Humans working with Dataled to pioneering work in creating the concepts of Data Wrangling and forming the Data Preparation software category. In 2012, the threesome decided to take their research to offer a full scale enterprise grade offering for Big Data Preparation. We see dramatic improvement in overall productivity when Data Workers use our platform due to our unique UX / product experience and self-service nature of product.
Engineering at Trifacta
We organize ourselves into cross-functional, autonomous pods that typically consist of a Product Manager, a UX Designer and Software and Quality Engineers. The teams are guided by objectives that roll up to the company's strategies. Teams are empowered to prioritize, execute and deliver their work independently (and are uniquely positioned to do so given their proximity to our users' problems).
Our users range from non-technical business analysts who deeply understand their data to engineers proficient with SQL and Python. Trifacta aims to make the time-consuming and difficult
80% data preparation task easy for everyone along this spectrum. Satisfying the less technical users requires intuitive, visual interfaces to transform their data and orchestrate data pipelines they can put in production. Accelerating the technical users tedious data preparation task requires those same interfaces but also the ability to use code where necessary and leverage familiar data operations concepts.
Trifacta lies at the center of business-critical data pipelines and touches those businesses' most sensitive data. We are building a secure, cloud-agnostic SaaS platform that scales to support, for example, our Google Dataprep OEM users.
We support the three major cloud platforms and a large variety of data sources and destinations. To do so requires solid architectures and abstractions to build high-quality, extensible software.
