Engineering at Truework

Engineering team and processes

We have 4 full-time engineers on the team. On a quarterly basis, we stack rank priorities for the product and engineering teams and use that to guide development during the succeeding months. We break our work into 2 week sprints, we pull priorities from the roadmap and break them into tasks. We collaborate on a daily basis, through stand-ups and informal paired programming to make sure we are all aligned on our execution. We want all engineers to understand not only the technical parts of the roadmap, but also how they contribute to the key business outcomes we are trying to achieve. We maintain the flexibility and autonomy to allow for creative exploration of the best way to achieve these outcomes.

Technical Challenges

We are building a flexible, back-end agnostic transformation layer for personal data. Today this information exists in siloed HR databases, and while incredibly rich, is not useful for the employee at all. We are building a scalable way to allow employees to actually use this rich information to prove their identity during both online and offline transactions of any size and scale.

  • Product for light registration by HR departments to become active users

    Our two-sided position in the marketplace gives us tremendous potential to leverage the demand from verifying organizations, like banks, to reach HR departments and get them using the platform. Every week we organically get in touch with hundreds of HR departments to complete employment verifications. We want to build a “lite registration” product that allows HR departments to easily complete and view employment verifications they’ve completed, before they even have to integrate their data.

  • API for banks

    Our current customer acquisition channel for banks is online and transactional. We believe our product is fundamentally important to creating a more secure, efficient, and transparent consumer lending standard. In order to integrate with banks at scale, however, we need an enterprise ready API that they can integrate into their workflows and systems.
