Engineering team and processes

We are a Seed-stage startup with only 2 engineers today. So the structure and processes will definitely evolve. We have plans to hire 6 engineers in the next six months: 2 Roboticists, 2 ML engineers that are comfortable with applied projects for video/visual perception, and 2 full-stack engineers that are comfortable with an embedded web stack (e.g. Docker, user interfaces, pulling simple info from databases).

Technical Challenges

We are building a comprehensive Perception Stack. We are going to help first-responders to find things. Beyond the object detection/classification/identification challenge, we are also building a semi-supervised learning system so that non-technical people can provide inputs to the ML even when in edge (e.g. disconnected from the cloud internet) environments.

Projects you might work on
  • For example, imagine a wearable camera that can find a polar bear walking in the arctic from a very long distance.

  • Build and deliver a semi-autonomous robot that can find dangerous foreign object debris (e.g. screwdrivers, bolts, etc) on airfields. This particular project is for a military base in Hawaii.

  • Build and deliver a drone that can find abnormalities while in flight during a reconnaissance mission.
