Online wine deals that don't ruin brands
Underground Cellar is a Y Combinator and VC-backed startup based in San Francisco that is currently experiencing hyper-growth. We’ve gamified wine sales through our addictive e-commerce platform that gives buyers great value through “upgrades”, allowing wineries to quickly sell wine without resorting to brand-damaging discounts. Since launching in 2014, Underground Cellar has sold over 750,000 bottles of wine, and we see sales of more than $1M every month and it is rapidly increasing.
We are nearly profitable and have grown our revenue 8x over the last 14 months and we are continuing to see rapid growth of customers and revenue.
We are currently a small 3 person team, with a wide stack develop over the years. Where everyone gets to take ownership over big parts of the stack. Each engineer will get to work closely with stakeholders in all parts of the company to develop new features and improve upon current ones. We use Azure and have CI/CD set up in conjunction with git. Each engineer is empowered to push changes to production, given an accepted pull request, and own their task end-to-end.
Develop new revenue driving customer-facing features in a serverless backend architecture served using server rendered react code.
Integrate with external services to make our shipping and procurement processes even more efficient and seamless.
