Data Engineer

Valencia Data is a young startup that is looking to fill out their first key engineering positions. This is an opportunity to help drive architecture, process and culture. We value technical ability, collaboration, and humility. We move fast and are driven to meet our goals.

Our founder built one of the largest YC companies that scaled from two people to hundreds, no customers to millions, raised over $500MM and wants to build something bigger. He had a nearly perfect rating on Glassdoor, building a high performance, low ego, diverse team.

You are self motivated and entrepreneurial. You can find answers on your own, but know when to ask for help. You are driven and passionate, and want to create a product our users love. And you love numbers over opinions (when you have them!).

As our Data Engineer you will help architect and build our financial data system. We will be ingesting large amounts of data from disparate sources, correlating them, transforming them, and producing the core system for the rest of our products. We expect the data to be large, dirty, and difficult to wrangle.

But that’s half the fun. The other half is understanding how we can correlate that data to our financial models and building an efficient, scalable and provably correct system. We’d love to hear how your background and skills can be applied to our product.
