Why join us?

  • We have incredible product/market fit. Restaurants have experienced tremendous growth by being able to serve a larger base of customers. Diners love the idea of ordering food from multiple cuisines in the same basket and getting them delivered in under 20 minutes.

  • We deal in atoms and not just bits. Mapping the real world in software is hard, especially in tough environments like kitchens and warehouses. There are plenty of novel problems to be solved - making software functional in low connectivity zones, using IoT to empower kitchen crew to uphold food quality, forecasting inventory with a short shelf life, etc.

  • Backed by a16z, SV Angel and Founders Fund. The team consists of experienced operators and engineers (ex-Uber, Chipotle and Amazon), and world renowned chefs (https://alldaykitchens.com/meet-brian-walter-from-all-day-rd/)

  • We're well-capitalized. We continue to iterate on product/market fit and are proud to spend our resources judiciously, giving us the best shot at success.

Engineering at All Day Kitchens

Engineering team and processes

Our engineering team works in weekly sprints, starting with a planning meeting to discuss top priorities for the week, demo features, celebrate wins and find process improvements. We also review operational metrics to discuss any issues and bugs that arose the previous week, catch anomalies, and ensure our software is meeting SLAs around latency and availability. Engineers work directly with our internal customers, and are expected to own the deliverable end-to-end. We also have bi-weekly knowledge sharing sessions and happy hour.

Technical Challenges

Kitchen hardware automation, forecasting and supply chain optimization, warehouse management, route planning and logistics. These are hard computer and data science problems that also need to account for the messiness of the real world; we deal with both atoms and bits.

Projects you might work on
  • You would build an inventory forecasting pipeline that needs to account for various variables like food freshness, restaurant partner capacity, kitchen capacity, etc.

  • You will work with chefs and field operations to build and optimize kitchen workflows using technology. E.g., of some of the stuff you may build: 1) Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), 2) deep integrations with kitchen equipment to make them smart (e.g., microwaves/steamers), 3) use Computer Vision for food quality control

  • You will build a storefront for our brand that enables a rich ordering and delivery experience that highlights our unique business model of multi-cuisine offering.
