The company is led by two experienced founders. Neel Shah is a big thinker, constant tinkerer, and business builder. He started his first tech company in high school and sold it during college in 2001. Most recently, he was one of the largest seed investors in Compass. Caitlin Kelly is an industry operator, who spent a decade working in communications and marketing. Caitlin’s domain expertise and network coupled with Neel’s outsider perspective and 'ruthless prioritization' approach is a complementary combination. For the past two years, Caitlin and Neel have been working together and iterating on ideas and concepts that would ultimately lay the groundwork for Vivid.
We have raised money from well-known investors, including the backers of TikTok and several prominent and influential industry leaders.
Engineering at Vivid Group Holdings
All engineers will report directly to our head of engineering and work closely with the founders of the company. We believe strongly in continuous integration and delivery, so engineers can expect to ship code on a daily basis. We empower this process by writing automated tests as part of development and by separating the release cycle from the deploy cycle using feature flags.
We are building a social-driven e-commerce platform that may need to handle hundreds or thousands of concurrent requests to queue. We will also be experimenting with gamification, including pricing algorithms that will incentivize buying behavior.
As a back-end engineer, you would have opportunities to design and implement scalable APIs, integrations, and innovative e-commerce solutions from ideation to release.
As a front-end/mobile engineer, you would have opportunities to define the developer environment and build a beautiful, performant app from the ground up, the way you've always wanted to.
As an early stage company, there will be opportunities to build short-lived experimental prototypes as part of our market validation. These ad hoc projects are a great opportunity to trial different technologies and approaches while still cleaving to our core principles.
