In just 2.5 years, we've surpassed $10m in annualized revenue and have grown 5.5x year over year.
Our first market, Phoenix, is already contribution margin positive and has 200+ live properties. We launched our second market, Austin in November 2018. We now have over 50 properties in the city and we're expecting to hit contribution margin positive by end of summer there.
Fundraising History - $2m seed in Aug 2017 (Khosla Ventures led, SV Angel participated) - $9m Series A in April 2018 from existing investors. Never announced. - $15m Series B announced led by Founder's Fund announced in September.
Our engineering team has a flat structure where engineers are encouraged to see projects through their full lifecycle from design to development.
We use a kanban-ish style with daily standups and a weekly sync to strategize and deal with high-level issues, with code reviews on each PR to deal with lower-level ones.
Everyone owns everything, and we help each other through impromptu whiteboard meetings, etc when we feel its appropriate.

Creating the tooling that allows our operations team to scale and manage a decentralized hotel
Optimizing our pricing algorithms to better match supply and demand
Building tooling to evaluate revenue potential of a homes on the short-term rental market prior to acquisition

Creating an airflow stack to manage our data science pipelines
Streamlining operations (turns, communications, maintenance) for a distributed hotel
We're resourceful, efficient, and collaborative. We believe a good solution in the wild is better than a perfect solution still in development.
