Engineering at Way Better

Engineering team and processes

Our engineering team operates on two-week cycles. Each cycle begins with a meeting to align on priorities and ends with a demo/retrospective meeting where each engineer can show off the work they've completed. Engineers typically work within cross-functional squads to ideate and spec features, then work on the feature individually or in pairs. We use Pull Requests on GitHub to conduct code reviews and all PRs trigger static analysis and automated testing on CircleCI. We manually release code multiple times per week.

Technical Challenges

We'd like to build a recommendation engine that connects our users with products of ours that will be most impactful to them on their health journey. We're building unique ways for people to connect with other people who have similar health and wellness struggles or goals.

Projects you might work on
  • You would determine how to show our customers the most relevant and inspiring posts from our 10k+ daily pieces of user-generated content.

  • You would help develop processes and tools to enable our development team to release to production multiple times per day.

  • You would be building an in-app tutorial to show new users around our mobile apps.

    We don't have hard rules around this but most of our engineers are available noon - 5 EDT and don't work more than 8 hours.
