We help everyone invest in a startup or small business that they love - even if they are not wealthy. This used to be illegal until we lobbied Congress to fix the law.
We started Wefunder because we wanted to invest in our friends - to help them dream bigger, be the best versions of themselves, and reach their ambition. We do that for the rest of America. So much raw talent is being wasted. Our purpose is to fix that, to help tens of thousands
take their shot.
We are a Public Benefit Corporation and certified B-Corp and have to date funded 279 startups with almost $100M from our user base of ~250,000. We've funded companies ranging from ostrich farms to flying cars.
Why join us?
We're the largest funding portal by investment volume and number of investors. Almost larger than our top three competitors combined.

$92M investments have been made through Wefunder. We've processed over 100,000 payments from ~50,000 investors
$2.2B of follow-on financing into startups first listed on Wefunder. 40%+ IRR from 2013-16 vintage years.
We're a Public Benefit Corporation (and certified B-Corp) with a mission to fund 20,000 new founders across the country.
Engineering at Wefunder
We track day-to-day work in PivotalTracker and quarterly goals in Trello. You will be given a lot of trust and autonomy to do your work. We have a
move fast and break stuff ethos for everything except
the money, so you are expected to push code to production daily. We do pair programming and Github PR reviews as needed. We believe strongly in learning and personal growth.
At Wefunder we’ve built a vertically-integrated investment stack, which gives us a large amount of control over the investor/founder experience while dramatically lowering costs for our users.
As a generalist you’re expected to know a lot about a lot, and you get to work on some very different projects from payment tools to a customized contract system to front-end tech. If something doesn’t exist in the world that we need, we build it. Wefunder is an amalgamation of half a dozen startups.
Work on tools and automations for our payment and reconciliation system so we can handle 10x transactions with 10% of the work.
Upgrade the Investor Dashboard (used by companies), which should provide real-time information that founders can take action on. For example, investors they can reach out to that still need to take action, or get analytics on where investors are coming from.
Improve our test suite and fix bugs, giving a better UX to our users and helping us ship code faster with high confidence.
