Wove's immediate focus is on marketing partnerships and is building the world’s largest network for inter-brand collaboration to facilitate this.
You'd be joining at an exciting time — We recently pivoted into something that has seen unbelievable traction in a very short amount of time (the new product was adopted by 250 companies in its first few months). We're a flat team (everyone reports to the CTO) where software engineers are responsible for both product and engineering decisions. We expect our success to be driven not by marching orders passed down from above but by individuals who have all the context they need to make sound decisions for the success of the company. As such, our processes are set up to empower people and then get out of the way. Expect high transparency, relatively few (but high-impact) meetings and a lot of time to do deep work and engage in ad hoc collaboration.
We work with a massive amount of very rich data, so there are a lot of challenges that come with that. We’re constantly working to find new ways to look at / work with all of this data, and are always building new tools that can help our customers use their own data (and their partners’ data) more effectively.
A company on our network has a dozen partners on average, and finds varying degrees of success with each one. A key service we provide is to recommend partnerships that we think will be successful. To do this, we leverage a number of different algorithms that rely on a variety of different inputs - the connections in our partnership graph, the affinity between companies' data sets, company profiles and descriptions, etc - and have a framework to generate, score, and surface these recommendations. One thing we do not consider yet is the degree to which companies actually use the data that they have access to when activated on our partner platforms (for running ads on Facebook for instance). Devise a framework to retrieve and persist the necessary data points from our partner platforms and then use this data set to generate partner recommendations.
We currently receive data from our customers through a system of file uploads and manual syncing. Design a framework that makes it easy for us to integrate with the most popular data warehouses and sync data between their systems and ours in realtime.
Our infrastructure is all hosted on AWS and managed through a system of Chef scripts that we'd like to migrate to Kubernetes (Google's container orchestration system). Create a plan and implement the foundational systems we need to do this.
