Engineering at Zenput

Engineering team and processes

Our engineering teams operate on two week sprint cycles. Each cycle begins with a planning meeting to discuss time estimates for features, and ends with a demo meeting where each engineer can show off the work they've completed. Engineers typically work with a product manager, designer, and tester and any other interested parties to spec a feature, then work on the feature individually or in pairs. We use Pull Requests on GitHub to conduct code reviews and have implemented automated build processes to push changes to testing environments for review. All engineers are also empowered to push code to production, which we often do multiple times per week.

Our team is organized by the products we build allowing each team member to build a sense for the customer and their problems, often traveling onsite to help triage issues or to better understand their workflows. A team is structured cross-functionally, typically with 4-6 engineers, a manager, a tester, a designer and a product manager.

Technical Challenges

We handle millions of tasks, questions & answers, images and documents every day and we're growing, fast. We are a mobile first company that has scaled to significant usage amongst many locations and we're going through our next stage of growth. We have ambitious plans to incorporate predictive features, computer vision and IoT to help us build the equivalent of Splunk for the real world.

Projects you might work on
  • You would get to work on our time series infrastructure to help us leverage the numerous sensors that our customers have incorporated

  • You would be re-building our mobile apps to leverage new technologies

  • You would help us build recommendation tools and quality management tools based on computer vision using the numerous photos and videos we have accumulated from our customers
