We believe that renting an apartment should be as easy as booking a hotel. Through a combination of world class engineering, product and business talent, that's the world we're building towards.

Zumper is the largest startup in real estate. Renters can find and apply for apartment leases through an easy-to-use online and mobile platform. As an additional value add, renters can be paired with a concierge that will search on their behalf for properties, set up tours, and help close the lease. Landlords and agents can also use Zumper Pro to manage listings and screen potential tenants.

Based in San Francisco, Zumper has raised $90 million in venture capital funding from investors including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Goodwater Capital, Breyer Capital, Foxhaven Asset Management, Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, NEA, CrunchFund, xfund, Dawn Capital, Marcus & Millichap, Scott Cook, and the DeWilde Family Trust. At the beginning of 2016, Zumper also acquired the apartment search startup PadMapper, which will be used by over 40 million people to move home in 2018.

Technical Challenges

Frontend: You'll be developing a scalable and performant React/Redux application with re-usable components which serves three different product platforms and millions of users.

Backend: You'll be writing the code that underpins every single company initiative, critical to every new product. You'll also deal with the challenges of an application already at scale and continuing to grow (scaling out webservers, database performance and clustering, data caching).
