What do we do?

Cruise is building self-driving car technology. We believe in improving people’s lives by making transportation safer, more accessible, and more convenient.

We were recently acquired by General Motors for $1 billion. Working with GM gives us the distribution channel to have our technology power the next generation of vehicles and significantly reduce the number of people who die every year in car accidents.

Why join us?

1) Self driving car technology will save thousands of lives every year. The work you do here will directly contribute to that.

2) Self driving car technology is still a new and emerging field of technology. This means the time to become an expert in it is much less than other older fields. Working at Cruise gives you the opportunity to become a world expert in self-driving technology while solving novel problems no one has encountered before.

3) Our acquisition by General Motors means we don't have the equity upside potential of a young startup. We do have the benefits of the stability and compensation structure that comes with a big company, while still operating as a startup. We still have our own office in San Francisco and retain complete operational of the company.

Technical challenges

1) Self driving cars are hard to build :)

2) We're at the forefront of self driving car technology which means many of the problems we're working on haven't been solved before. If you enjoy working on novel problems where you can't rely on pre-existing libraries, you'll enjoy working here.
