What do we do?

Gusto is building the HR platform that allows businesses to focus on their work and the things they're really good at.

The product began as offering easy payroll and has now extended into offering benefits (e.g. health insurance) and simple 401k plans.

Technical challenges

1) We are processing close to $20 billion in payroll and processing payments annually. We can't afford to make any mistakes at that scale and have built bank grade software to do this.

2) We are investing more into building out our fraud detection and underwriting software. This means we have interesting challenges of data science and machine learning.

3) We're currently decoupling our code base to make it more service orientated and making it have well defined interfaces. If you enjoy thinking about infrastructure, now is a great time to join.

Why join us?

1) We've achieved product/market fit and are growing quickly. We recently raised a $60 million round of funding to help us fulfill our mission of becoming the largest HR platform in the world.

2) We're working on introducing a new suite of products to the market. Building new products is always exciting and you'll get to do that here.
