What do we do?

One Codex is the leading bioinformatics platform for microbial genomics. Application areas include infectious disease diagnostics, microbiome research, food safety, and public health epidemiology.

Technical challenges

A broad range of problem sets (everything from low-level algorithms and data structures for bioinformatics to our React frontend for visualizing genomics data). Working on technology that directly assists scientific researchers in a new and growing field, as well as clinicians and other applied practitioners translating that research.

Why join us?

1) We went through Y Combinator in 2014 and have raised investment and reached profitability since then. We still have a small team, which we'll be growing this year.

2) You'll be working on an important problem, helping scientists make better sense of important data which will ultimately save lives. Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is having a huge impact on genetics and our understanding of the world around us. We're helping tie that data together and make sense of it.

3) We've processed 30,000 samples of user data/unique biological specimens and that's growing 20% quarterly.

4) You'll have lots of conference and science participation opportunities here. You can be involved in the publication process and can put out papers in a peer reviewed journal.
