What do we do?

We connect independent educators with independent learners, helping parents to discover great learning experiences outside of regular school. Check out some of our upcoming classes:

Why join us?

1. Experienced and technical founding team: we've all founded startups before and have engineering and product management experience from Airbnb, Clever, Google, Amazon, Square.

2. Meaningful work: our product has a positive impact on the families who use it and you’ll be able to see that for yourself through observing classes and interacting with parents, teachers and students.

3. Early-stage impact: as the first engineering hire, your work will have a visible and significant impact on Outschool's success.

4. Healthcare plan, a fun and flexible work environment, a significant equity component and sufficient salary to live in the Bay Area.

Technical challenges

You will write and maintain a lot of solid production website code, primarily in modern Javascript (Node, React). We’re looking for someone who will be pragmatic, aware of tradeoffs, and comfortable with change. You will work effectively with other engineers, product, sales, and ops people. You will be open to learning from us, and have something to teach us.
